The process

How installation works

  1. Water test

We test your irrigation water for iron, for free, and tell you honestly whether a system is worth it.

  2. Site check

We look at your well or irrigation pump, the controller, power nearby, and where the system can sit.

  3. Your schedule

You give us your sprinkler watering days and times. The dosing is set around them.

  4. Install and set up

We place the tank and pump, connect to the irrigation supply, and set the dosing.

  5. Monthly refills

We refill and check the system every month, and come back early if a broken line empties the tank.

What we need from you

A few things that make the system work

  • Your watering times

Which days your sprinklers run, what time, and roughly how long. This is what the dosing is built on.

  • Access to the equipment

We need to get to the well pump, irrigation controller and the spot where the system will sit.

  • A heads-up on changes

If you change your watering schedule or a line breaks, tell us. Both change how the system needs to be set.

Homes and larger properties

Installed for how your irrigation actually runs

Homes

Most homes have one well or irrigation pump feeding several zones. A system at that pump treats the water before it reaches your zones.

HOAs and businesses

Larger properties can have several pumps, supply points or irrigation zones. We plan treatment around the whole system, then keep every unit on one monthly refill schedule.

Already have a system?

We refill and service systems other companies installed.

If your current system isn't keeping up, we'll check the pump and dosing against your watering schedule and put it on our monthly refill schedule.

[Rust Busters was] a lifesaver!! I did a big landscaping project for my animal hospital and the irrigation that was installed caused iron staining all over my property. Luckily, [they were] able to remove all the staining and install a system into my well so the iron could be contained, preventing any future staining! [They were] very professional … and incredibly kind to my entire staff. Would highly recommend working with this company!!! They also have great, affordable pricing.

I have had the opportunity to work with [Rust Busters] and collaborate with [them] on many projects. Friendly, courteous, and dependable. So much of Florida water has a rust problem coming through irrigation systems that creates an eyesore for the owner. After installing new paver driveways for people, no one wants to see rust on their pavers and so we refer [Rust Busters].

Questions

Installation questions

What does an installation include?

A free water test, a solution tank, an electric injection pump, the connection to your irrigation supply, and setting the dosing around your watering schedule. We walk you through it when we're done.

Where does the system go?

Usually beside the well pump or irrigation equipment, where it can connect to the irrigation line. We'll look at your setup and pick the spot.

Does the system need power?

The injection pump is electric and runs when your irrigation runs, so it needs a power source near the equipment. We check this during the estimate.

What do you need from me?

Your sprinkler watering days and times, and access to the well pump and irrigation area.

What happens after it's installed?

We refill and check the system every month. If a broken line or a schedule change empties the tank early, we come back early.

Can you install on an HOA or commercial property?

Yes. Larger properties often have several irrigation zones or pumps, and we plan the system around how the irrigation actually runs.
