The short answer
A rust prevention system needs very little from you between refills: make sure it has power, glance at the solution level, watch for new orange in the spray pattern, and tell us when your watering schedule changes or a line breaks. We handle the monthly refills, pump checks and dosing.
What to watch between refills
- Power. The injection pump is electric. After a storm or a tripped breaker, make sure it has power again.
- Solution level. If the tank looks much lower than usual before the next visit, something is using more water than normal.
- New staining. Fresh orange on a surface that was clean is the earliest sign the system needs attention.
- Tubing. Look for kinked, cracked or disconnected tubing around the pump and tank.
- Keep the lid on and the area around the tank clear.
Tell us about these changes
The system’s dosing is set around your sprinkler watering days and times. When those change, the dosing should too. Call us if:
- You change your watering days, start times or run times
- A sprinkler line or head breaks and runs water constantly
- Your irrigation is repaired, expanded or re-zoned
- Your irrigation controller’s schedule changes after a power outage
A broken line can empty a tank long before the next refill. When that happens, we come back early.
What not to do
- Don’t change the pump’s dosing settings yourself. They’re set to your watering schedule.
- Don’t add other chemicals to the tank or top it off with anything else.
- Don’t unplug the pump to save power. It only runs when the irrigation does.
What we do on each visit
